Innovative Tompson Symbio Cordless DECT VoiP Phone with Internet Radio5094 Views | Trackback | Filed under Audio,Visual, Household Tech, Portable Technology | by Andrew TingleAs far as phones in general go, and especially VoiP handsets, Thomson’s Symbio is certainly a stunning looking device and, as if not just content to boast hightly distinctive styling to die for, the innovative Symbio, as well as functioning as a regular and DECT VoiP handset, also serves as a fully fledged internet radio (oh, and it can also pick up RSS feeds).
At the time of writing we are unable to bring you any details concerning either pricing or availability (though we have search far and wide for details) but we saw no reason as to why that should stop us from posting about this gobsmakingly beautiful device which even comes with integrated rechargeable batteries – allowing you to carry it around with you for around 6 hours as you listen to internet radio stations and or make calls.

HD Sound (G722 speech coding).
Multi-line handling capability.
SMS text messaging (Subject to subscription and technical availability of the service from your ISP)
Phonebook synchronisation. (1) (3)
MyInfokiosk: RSS data management (content personalisation). (Optional service depending on product version)
Internet radio :
Stereo speakers (2 x 3 Watts).
Portable radio. (over 6 hours’ listening time from rechargeable Li-lon battery)
Extended range delivered by DECT technology.
Digital broadcast: consistently high quality reception. (none of the interference typical of FM)
Huge choice of Internet radio stations, listed by:
Location (regional, national, international).
Category (Classical, Rock, Pop, etc.).
Preferences: SYMBIO stores your 10 favourite stations and the 10 most recently selected stations.
Station name and other info such as artist or song’s name displayed (depending on radio station).
Listening duration display.
Colour screen with auto-orientation.
Built-in radio alarm.
Needless to say, we await further news from Thomson concerning the Symbio with great interest.
